Job Description

Benefits:

Salary:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $150,000 - $175,000 + 15% Bonus Target and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting annual salary within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Tax Manager to join our global tax team. This role is a key contributor to all aspects of our income tax function, including provision, compliance, audits, and strategic planning. Reporting to the VP of Tax, the ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

This is a high-impact role offering exposure to international tax matters, M&A activity, and evolving global frameworks such as Pillar 2. You'll work cross-functionally with finance, legal, and business leaders to ensure compliance, drive process improvements, and support strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Tax Provision & Reporting

  • Lead the quarterly and annual income tax provision process under ASC 740 for U.S. and international entities.
  • Review and prepare supporting workpapers, book-tax differences, and tax footnote disclosures.
  • Provide training and guidance on ASC 740 to global finance teams.

Tax Compliance

  • Prepare U.S. federal and state income and franchise tax returns, including consolidated and separate filings, estimated payments, and extensions.
  • Prepare and review international tax forms (e.g., 5471, 8858) and related documentation.
  • Manage state apportionment and ensure compliance with evolving state tax laws.

Audit & Risk Management

  • Coordinate and manage federal and state income tax audits, including responses to inquiries and audit strategy.
  • Identify and document uncertain tax positions and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls.

Strategic Tax Planning

  • Research complex tax issues and provide actionable recommendations through technical memos.
  • Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Support M&A tax due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Operational Leadership

  • Supervise U.S. sales and use tax compliance and audits.
  • Oversee property tax, unclaimed property, 1099/1042-S's, tax registrations, and miscellaneous compliance filings.
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Leverage tax technology tools (e.g., Corptax, Avalara, BNA, AX) to streamline compliance and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and documentation.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive tax experience in a multinational corporation and/or public accounting.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on ASC 740 experience is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws; international tax exposure is a plus.
  • Experience with tax technology platforms (Corptax, Avalara, BNA, AX) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
