Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Analyst.

The Institute for Innovations in Medical Education (IIME) at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a full-time research assistant who will assist on multiple studies at the intersection of informatics, artificial intelligence, health services, and medical education. This includes exploring how medical trainees educational performance across medical school and residency maps to clinical process and outcome measures, both in training and in future practice. By understanding the relationship between training and clinical care, IIME hopes to develop evidence-informed medical training programs and to perform translational studies of educational interventions to improve patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of data analysis to answer research questions, including data wrangling and management, statistical analyses, modeling, visualization, and reporting.
  • Advanced analytics such as multi-level modeling and supervised machine learning may also be conducted, with support from other members of the IIME team.
  • Applicants should be comfortable working collaboratively in developing research questions and planning analytic approaches and then conducting analyses independently.
  • We will support the data analyst in pursuing first author publications. We collaborate with data science experts across NYU Langone Health, including population health researchers, clinical and educational informaticians, biostatisticians, and education scientists.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Applicants will have the following data analytic skills:
Proficient with R
Familiarity with SQL
Data cleaning and manipulation
Database management and manipulation
Statistical analysis
Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
Bachelors degree required

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
The applicant should ideally hold a master-level degree or possess the equivalent data analytic expertise, in the field of informatics, computer science, statistics, data science, population health, educational research, psychology, or related areas. Advanced degree students nearing program completion will also be considered.
Competitive applicants may have additional experience and/or interest in the following:
Familiarity with Python
Familiarity with Epic electronic health record databases (Clarity, Caboodle)

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $79,775.60 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
