This role will be based remotely in the Northeast region of theUnited Statesand will be expected to travel to customers across the Northeast region of theU.S. and to the corporate office in Seattle, Washington, up to 40-50%.

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident's global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary:The Sr. Sales Manager for Retail Sales will be responsible for executing and consistently performing sales activities for an assigned customer base focused within the Northeast Region of the US. The position is a remote role and based within the assigned region, ideally near a strategic retailer in New York, New Jersey, or North Carolina.This role will focus on maintaining and growing sales with current customers while pursuing new business opportunities with prospective customers in an entrepreneurial environment focused on integrity and personal accountability. The team member in this role will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with high-priority retail partners in the NE aligned with our strategic growth priorities.

  • In conjunction with leadership, develops and executes sales plans for their individual territory that align with overall sales strategy to reach or exceed sales quota.
  • Independently prospects and develops new and existing relationships with customers to support category growth while growing Trident's share in the Retail Sales channel.
  • Drives volume and margin growth aligned with corporate goals and expectations.
  • Presents, promotes, negotiates, and sells products to existing and prospective customers, leveraging in-depth product knowledge.
  • Provides sales forecasting activities as needed and is responsible for accuracy of such forecast.
  • Delivers effective product presentations and business reviews (both virtual and in person).
  • Leverages and analyzes data to guide sales efforts and make informed business decisions.
  • Manages travel expenses in order to maximize results.
  • Negotiates pricing and coordinates on-boarding of new customers.
  • Partners with other internal departments (Customer Experience Team, Category Management, Marketing, Credit, Finance, Supply Chain/Forecasting/Demand Planning, Operations, QA and Sales Support) to efficiently and accurately conduct sales transactions and a dynamic environment.
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volumes, potential sales, and areas of opportunity.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $110,000to $165,000.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in CPG sales or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Currently resides in the Northeast region of the U.S. with the ability to travel up to 40-50%
  • A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in CPG Retail Sales
  • Superior customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience selling strategic customers within assigned territory
  • Seafood retail sales or comparable CPG experience (preferably in the Refrigerated or Frozen perishable segment)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) experience
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong working knowledge of industry syndicated data tools
  • Previous CRM experience
  • Skilled at building and maintaining cross-functional relationships internally and at the customer level
  • Proficient in developing and delivering presentations in both one-on-one and group environments
  • Strong negotiating skills to achieve pre-planned results in meetings or discussions with individuals or groups

Work Environment

This role will be based remotely in the Northeast region of theUnited Statesand will be expected to travel to customers acrossthe Northeast region of theUnited Statesand to the corporate office in Seattle, Washington, up to 40-50%.
