Job Summary

Manage logistical operations for the storage and shipment of products. Create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, sales, supply chain, and outside suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing movement and storage of components, parts, and finished products to ensure their availability and delivery when needed to meet established schedules.
  • Manage and/or participate in cross-functional project teams to design and implement logistics capabilities and strategies based on business plans and objectives, new product introduction or business opportunities.
  • Identify, maintain, and terminate relationships with contracted vendors; negotiate and ensure compliance with terms of service.
  • Manage the organizations compliance with U.S. Customs and C-TPAT regulation; ensure any risk of penalty or assessment is minimized; evaluate compliance and dispute fines as appropriate.
  • Ensure the organizations Import Manual is regularly maintained and up-to-date.
  • Process customs billing and ensure on-time payment.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Direct Import customer requirements to include ship mark, 3rdparty pre-shipment inspections, booking, documentation, and payment requirements.
  • Partner with internal and external legal counsel as appropriate; actively work to minimize any legal exposure.
  • Establish and measure KPI's; apply statistical methods and drive performance for on-time in-full delivery, shipping, overall product quality, workforce planning requirements, production schedules and forecasts.
  • Manage third party logistics (3PL) transportation and distribution systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical delivery of the organization's products.
  • Investigate root cause for problem reconciliation and leads corrective action for complaints related to last minute configuration, transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished product.
  • Develop and implement best practices.
  • Manage the logistics budget.
  • Support, enforce and adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies, procedures, rules and code of conduct

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education


* Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.


Minimum Work Experience:


* Five (5) years of international logistics experience in the consumer products industry with progressive responsibility for the transportation and importation of products across international borders.


License(s) / Certification(s):


* Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred.

* Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and operations.


* Strong knowledge of Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C- TPAT).


* Proficiency in using a Personal Computer (PC) to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.


* Strong proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Software (WMS) solutions (i.e., SAP).


* Strong customer service skills and the ability to continuously do the right thing for the customer.


* Project planning and management skills.


* Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to find effective solutions to complex problems.


* Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain information in a logical manner.


* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional


relationships with people of various backgrounds.


* Good communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.


* Strong analytical skills and the ability to be detail oriented.


* Ability to travel both domestically and abroad as deemed appropriate.


* Ability to work effectively as an integral member of a team.


* Ability to be self-motivated and work with general guidance, under minimal supervision.


* Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
