Summary:

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various settings, in DHS facilities around the United States.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Understand and comply with all necessary safety procedures and regulations
  • Understand and comply with all NFPA, NEC, construction standards and specifications
  • Provide exceptional service and communication to clients
  • Communicate and coordinate both internally and with external stakeholders to ensure
  • Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints and diagrams
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair
  • Ensure compliance with codes for safety and efficiency
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, using test equipment, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
  • Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) to document all the recommended spare parts, repair parts, and tools associated with the equipment serviced.
  • Coordinate any outages required for maintenance or repairs
  • Complete all required reports for work completed including equipment inventories, checklists, redline drawings, bill of materials, and repair plans
  • Travel for this position is 100%

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be able to work on ladders, access rooftops and other hard to reach areas, and be able to lift and carry materials and tools in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with the requirements outlined by NFPA 70E, OSHA, and other safety regulations
  • Must be proficient in using a computer to send email, as well as use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid license to perform electrical work.
  • At least 7-10 years of related experience as an Electrician.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination for duty.
  • Ability to travel 100%

Pay and Benefits

The hourly range for this position is $30.00 to $45.00
