Health Research, Inc. (HRI) is seeking an Assistant Director, Audit and Compliance. HRI administers grants for the New York State Department of Health, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and other health related public and private entities to assist in building a healthier future for New York State and beyond. The Assistant Director, Audit and Compliance will play a critical leadership role in ensuring compliance with subrecipient monitoring and overseeing and directing Audit & Corporate Compliance activities. The Assistant Director will serve as a key resource for staff and subrecipients. The incumbent will also assist in directing the development and implementation of an internal audit risk assessment and assisting in the direction of internal audit activities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of experience managing and/or directing internal or external audits or compliance activities; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and seven years of such experience; OR nine years of such experience. At least three years of experience must have included supervision of staff. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience managing and/or directing internal or external audits or compliance activities. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification. Experience in subrecipient monitoring and a strong working knowledge of federal, state and sponsor compliance requirements. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office. Conditions of Employment Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel up to 10% of the time will be required. This position may require infrequent work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
