Exciting Opportunity: SHE Divisional Business Partner

We are excited to be recruiting for a Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Divisional Business Partner to join our dynamic team.

As a key member of the Safety, Health, and Environmental team, this role will work collaboratively with business leaders and employees across the division to drive and support the implementation of Element's SHE programs.

Reporting directly to the HSE Business Unit Director, with a dotted-line relationship to the Divisional Operations Director, this position plays a pivotal role in strengthening our safety culture, promoting employee well-being, and ensuring compliance with both company policies and regulatory standards.



Responsibilities

    Implementation of strategic improvements and initiatives for continuous improvement and alignment of SHE management systems across the division
  • Achieve a step change in HSE management by building HSE accountability and responsibility through the operational teams
  • Coach and lead the SHE community in the development of effective ways of working where learning and development is at the heart of everything we do
  • Developing, procuring, implementing and managing organisational SHE policies, programs, practices and procedures
  • Raise awareness of SHE through audits and assessments to identify development needs and gaps (both macro and micro) and implement programs to close the gap
  • Measure and ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements
  • Support mergers and acquisitions as necessary
  • Responsible for the execution of a company focused SHE program

  • Partner with location management teams (General, Operations and Departmental Managers) to understand SHE concerns, opportunities, and gaps and provide solutions to close the gaps

  • Develop and deliver SHE training as well as development of SHE programs based on organizational needs

  • Determine, and develop a process to track effectiveness of safety programs

  • Support locations to maintain general regulatory compliance

  • Advise and assist managers and employees in identifying SHE improvement opportunities and actions

  • Responsible for the reporting on the performance of the SHE management system, ensuring two-way communication to management, colleagues and any other interested parties

  • Support incident and injury investigations and partner with insurance carrier to manage worker compensation and other loss claims

  • Champion the development of the One Element - Safety culture to ensure alignment with company guiding principles, business vision and company values

  • Establish relationships with outside organizations and institutions as required to develop programs, training content, or to refer employees for outside safety training solutions appropriate to their training needs



Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum experience level: 4-8 years of experience in a Safety, Health and Environmental leadership role with management experience
  • Exposure to country health and safety standards, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and environmental compliance
  • Able to train and deliver key messages to large diverse groups
  • Proven track record of working in and/or influencing relationships where there is exposure to sensitive issues
  • Experience working with multiple locations and company leadership
  • Must be proficient and experienced working with Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company and externally
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
