Position Summary

The UNM College of Education and Human Sciences, comprised of five academic departments, is a future-oriented, dynamic professional school organized to reflect the following values: Advocacy, Building Professional Identities, Collaboration, Building Strong School/University Partnerships, Interdisciplinary Inquiry/Scholarship, and Teaching and Learning.

The TEELP Department is one of the largest in the College with the uniqueness of having teacher education and educational leadership faculty addressing Pre-K-12 and higher education needs together as an academic unit. The Department has both undergraduate and graduate programs.

The District Partner Teacher Residency (DPTR) is a collaborative teacher preparation partnership between teacher licensure programs in the UNM COEHS and various districts, charter schools, and private schools in New Mexico. We are requesting a District Partner Teacher Residency (DPTR) Lecturer II/III to work with our residents in school sites within the Albuquerque metropolitan area and beyond. This Lecturer II/III position will support the instruction and field supervision for the teacher residents in DPTR.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to assume responsibility for teaching the Seminar courses as well as additional departmental coursework as needed and overseeing teacher residents in their field experience coursework. The successful candidate will also attend related meetings and assume responsibility for attending and aiding in the delivery of professional development for residents and their cooperating teachers.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
* Earned Master's or Doctoral degree in education, or closely related field with of expertise in field experience, clinical teaching practice or related area, by the appointed start date no later than August 2026.
* Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching in public elementary (grades K-8) and/or secondary (grades 7-12) schools in the U.S.
* Evidence of clinical supervision/clinical teaching practice and/or experience in school leadership with supervisory responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience teaching in public elementary (grades K-8) and/or secondary (grades 7-12) schools in the U.S.
* Experience in educational leadership broadly defined.
* Evidence of excellence or potential for excellence in teaching in post-secondary, research-oriented settings.
* Theoretical knowledge of, and practical experience with guiding residents to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico.
* Experience building and/or working in partnerships between higher education, public schools and communities in support of teacher preparation.
* Theoretical knowledge of and practical experience with professional development programs for novice and experienced teachers.
* Demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
