Job Title: Finance & Accounting Program Manager

Job Summary:

The Finance & Accounting Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day finance functions in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. This manager has a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding provider compensation, the systems used in the department, and funds flow for clinical activities between the University of Colorado, CU Medicine, Children's Hospital Colorado, and University of Colorado Hospital Authority.

The Finance & Accounting Program Manager maintains oversight of all fiscal activity of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, performs fiscal planning and financial analyses, serves as the Department's approver of purchases and expenses, maintains financial and accounting documentation, is an advisor to the Department's Director of Finance and Administration on fiscal measures needed to ensure the Department is profitable and cost effective, and manages Departmental projects related to finance and accounting.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. Subject to change based on campus work requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, financial, health/public administration, or other closely related field.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • 4 years of financial management experience OR a combination of relevant education and experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis, but not for the financial management experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) or more years of experience managing finances including grant and gift funding, processing reimbursements budget management, reconciling accounts, etc.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in a academic medical center and/or school of medicine.

  • Experience managing complex funds associated with multiple institutions.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Must have high degree of technical skills in fiscal management, knowledge of accounting and business practices, including knowledge and use of financial and accounting software packages.

  • Strong financial management skills and the ability to manage funds effectively from a variety of sources.

  • Solid understanding in budget development and management; billing operations, reimbursements, financial contracts, and consulting agreements.

  • Team player as well as a team builder who can delegate appropriately, and lead by example

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $67,133 to $85,393

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
