We currently have an exciting career opportunity for the Northeast Region Brokerage Leader position in our Northeast Region. This is a great opportunity to join the Construction & Infrastructure team to manage and broker/consult on behalf of a diversified client base with insurance underwriters in the Casualty insurance discipline.

This is a hybrid role that requires working onsite at least 3-4 days a week from a local Aon office in New York or Boston.

What the day will look like

The Broker Leader is responsible for assessing client needs, designing solutions and negotiating with insurance carriers to obtain coverage that is in a client's best interests

  • Professional who develops and manages client relationships, account strategies and insurance marketing activities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the client, in broking, designing, selling and servicing complex accounts and project placements.
  • Management responsibilities, including leading and developing a team through coaching, training, and regular performance feedback, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives, and overseeing daily operations to ensure achievement of department goals.
  • Provide outstanding and timely service and support to clients, relationship managers and originators
  • Facilitate the compilation of submission information in conjunction with clients, relationship managers, originators and service center support
  • Finalize market submission and product design options to clients, relationship managers, and originators
  • Detailed knowledge of the existing and prospected business within the segment
  • Build strong insurance carrier relations specific to the segment
  • Bespoke broking and account reviews
  • Detailed knowledge of the market dynamics within the segment
  • Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in all activities and able to work well in a team environment
  • Travel as required for client, prospect and industry events

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 10-15+ years construction/infrastructure customer service and brokerage support experience
  • Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills
  • Experience leading RFPs
  • Knowledge of the NY OCIP market and ability to place large complex projects
  • Proven collaboration skills - Prioritizes team success over individual recognition
  • Strong oral presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex written messages
  • A network of carrier relationships
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Develop proficiency in use of in-house account management systems (CRBA, CRA and future Aon brokerage and analytics tools)
  • Developing and mentoring a team. Ability to recruit new team members as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Broking experience on major complex risks
  • Management Skills Preferred
  • Computer knowledge: Adept with Microsoft Office Suite

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

  • Must maintain an active Property and Casualty insurance license, or be able to acquire one within the first 90 days of employment.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $242,700 - $315,500 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
