| This position is an essential part of Sherwin's manufacturing team. This position follows detailed processing instructions to pre-batch and blend raw materials to create a batch of industrial or architectural colorant. This position performs various manufacturing tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment. Additional Information Day Shift: 6:30 am to 6:30 pm Day Shift Prebatch Operator on a 4 on and 4 off Rotating Shift Schedule This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans. Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised.   Select, pull, measure, and stage raw materials for manufacturingFollow batch slip instructions to incorporate raw materials in high-speed mixers to mix and blend batchesMake lab adjustments, incorporate approved samples, and maintain raw material samples from daily premixesOperate paint making control systems and manufacturing equipment such as high-speed dispersers (HSDs), pumps, valves, battery chargers, drum handling equipment, and forklifts, etc. in an efficient and safe mannerMonitor raw materials and finished goods for qualityComply with policies and standard operating proceduresKeep equipment logs, perform minor repairs, and report breakdowns in a timely mannerMaintain production records and reporting as requiredCollaborate with other departments to complete production orders on timeMonitor and replenish inventory of parts and suppliesProvide technical support and training to other team membersContribute ideas to improve or optimize manufacturing proceduresKeep tools, equipment, and work environment clean and organized dailyMinimum Requirements: 
  Must be at least eighteen (18) years of ageMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications: 
  Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facilityHave at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machineryHave at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environmentHave at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goodsHave at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)Have at least one (1) year of work experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process |
