Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Deposit Application Analyst I to join our team! This position serves as a key liaison between Deposit Operations and Technology, responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining deposit-related applications. This role will troubleshoot system issues, manage configurations, support upgrades, and collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to enhance customer and employee experience.

As part of this role, you will:



  • Application Support & Optimization

    • Serve as subject matter expert for deposit-related applications, ensuring optimal performance and usability.
    • Monitor system health, perform root cause analysis, and resolve application issues in collaboration with IT and vendors.
    • Configure and test system enhancements, patches, and upgrades.
    • Maintain documentation for system workflows, configurations, and user guides.
    • Maintain disaster recovery plans for assigned applications.


  • Core System Feature Discovery

    • Explore and document deposit-related functionality within the core banking system to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
    • Partner with IT and business units to activate or enhance underutilized features that support deposit workflows, compliance, and reporting.


  • Workflow Automation & Documentation

    • Utilize RPAs to design, implement, and maintain automated workflows that support deposit operations and application processes.
    • Create and manage digital forms, approval processes, and task routing to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
    • Maintain a repository of process documentation and ensure version control and accessibility for stakeholders.


  • Compliance & Risk Management

    • Ensure systems and processes comply with applicable regulations including Reg E, Reg CC, BSA/AML, NACHA, and internal policies.
    • Participate in audits and risk assessments related to deposit applications.


  • Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Collaborate with Deposit Operations teams to streamline processes and automate manual tasks.
    • Act as a liaison with vendors for issue resolution, roadmap planning, and service delivery.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to align system capabilities with business needs.




To be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Deposit Operations or banking application support.


The following would be a plus:



  • Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience supporting SaaS-based banking platforms
  • Knowledge of core banking systems and integrations
  • Familiarity with deposit applications systems
  • Experience with workflow automation tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SQL or reporting tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
