Summary of Position: The Campus Community Safety and Emergency Management Director directs and coordinates the campus community safety and emergency management programs for the College including but not limited to: protecting the safety of student/staff/public, liaison with local law enforcement and community resources, loss prevention, parking enforcement, emergency management plan and response and security/safety training, education and awareness programs, and threat assessment. This position is responsible for providing occasional on-call assistance.
 
   Essential Functions

Complete all required college training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. 3. Supervision and Training - Supporting Action/Task May Include: 
    Direct the hiring, supervision, training, coaching and evaluation processes for Western campus community safety staffProvide instruction and training to College on crisis intervention, risk assessment, emergency management, and personal safetyMeet regularly with Coordinator and support staff to discuss campus community safety plan and operationsDevelop, manage, and monitor campus community safety and technology budgets 5. Operations Management - Supporting Action/Task May Include: 
    Advise senior leadership on interpretation and application of laws, rules, regulations, and policies which may impact campus safety and securityEstablish partnerships and work collaboratively with community agencies including law enforcement, emergency services, parole and probation, emergency management, and health and mental health providers to address campus community safety needsStrategically plan and lead college-wide community safety efforts to ensure safety of students, staff and visitorsStrategically plan and direct the College's emergency management plan, and develop and conduct tabletop, walk-through, functional and full-scale exercises, and drillsRespond to and investigate crisis/emergent situations and/or violations of college policies during normal operational hours and after hoursEvaluate and oversee building security systems related to access control, life safety and camera systemsRepresent Western and serve as content area expert on internal and external committees including Care Team, Risk Management Steering Team, DMI, regional Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), and regional Chief's group 6. Compliance - Supporting Action/Task May Include: 
    Coordinate incident response, reporting and data collection in compliance with federal and state requirements including responsibility for serving as Clery Compliance Officer and completing and publishing Annual Security and Fire Report and Policy Statement (Clery Report) in accordance to Clery Act requirements.Lead investigator for Title IX related incidents (gender discrimination, sexual misconduct, stalking, domestic violence and dating violence).Conduct college safety and security assessments in accordance to Department of Homeland Security, District Mutual Insurance and CPTED guidelines; recommend preventative/corrective measures as necessary; and work with local, state, and federal agencies to improve campus community safety posture.

   This position reports to: VP - Student Service & Engagement Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $78,503 - $104,586 This position would include competitive salary, along with a wide variety of benefits available to full-time Western Technical College Employees.
