Position Description:
The Special Process Technician I - Annealer is responsible for supporting daily operations across the heat treat department by performing essential maintenance, materials handling, and housekeeping duties. This role ensures that the heat treating area is properly maintained and functional to support production efficiency and safety.
Essential Functions:
* Performs routine heat treat operations to anneal various parts and sub-assemblies.
* Load units on arbors or place in trays, positioning these units in hydrogen atmosphere furnaces and other types of furnaces.
* Set prescribed temperatures and time cycles in accordance with written instructions
* Visually check units for damage and obvious defects
* Replace empty hydrogen cylinders, maintaining proper safety rules in performing the task
* Perform all functions of the tufftride process as outlined in written instructions
* Exchange gas cylinders as needed.
* Safely handle and distribute various industrial gases throughout the facility as required.
* Follow all company policies and safety regulations related to hazardous materials, machine operation, and general plant safety.
Required Skills:
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Basic mechanical aptitude
* Strong attention to detail and safety
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Ability to lift 35 lbs and stand for extended periods
* Frequent bending, lifting, and walking in a shop environment
* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Education & Experience:
* HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
* Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing plant environment utilizing machine tools required.
* Must be US Citizen.
This position is located at our Black Mountain NC facility. Relocation assistance is not available
