POSITION TITLE: Christmas Mall Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Corps Officers

STATUS: Temporary/Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Full Time

Approximate start date November 10, 2025, and working through December 31, 2025

MISSION STATEMENT:

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Christmas Mall Coordinator coordinates the operations that take place at Tacoma Mall during the holiday season, namely the Giving Tree and Gift Wrapping Booth.

ESSENTIAL PROGRAM AIDE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Coordinate the Giving Tree program for the collection of donated toys, and the Gift Wrapping Booth fundraiser at the Tacoma Mall.
  • Inventory existing Gift Wrap supplies and provide Corps Officer with a list of supplies to be ordered
  • Coordinate toy pick-ups from the Mall with Seasonal Christmas Drivers and Corps Officers.
  • Coordinate space clean-up at end of season.
  • Orient and lead volunteers for the Giving Tree and the Gift Wrap Booth onsite, as needed
  • Maintain onsite contact and good rapport with key Mall staff.
  • Oversee transfer of cashbox between Gift Wrap booth and Tacoma Citadel Corps.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license
  • Must pass The Salvation Army 's in hour driving test and Motor vehicles Records check



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new information/skills
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the comprehensive mission of The Salvation Army
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment and maintain poise under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to keep information confidential



SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:



  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (email)
  • Square Terminal



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to operate telephone
  • Ability to operate desktop or laptop computer
  • Ability to understand written information.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (emptying trash, moving boxes, etc.)



Work Schedule / Location: This position is located at the Tacoma (Simon Mall) and The Salvation Army Tacoma Corps in Tacoma, Washington. The schedule is based on program needs.
