As a Security Officer - Shelter Center - Full Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, promoting a secure environment for all residents and staff. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere by providing exceptional customer service and communication. You will conduct routine patrols throughout the shelter, staying visible and approachable to address questions or concerns, and respond promptly to any security-related situations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and residents by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity by conducting regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations within the shelter in a calm and problem-solving manner.
• Maintain awareness of the surroundings to help identify and report any suspicious activity or conditions.
• Collaborate with shelter staff and/or residents to address concerns and promote a welcoming environment.
• Document and communicate security-related incidents and observations according to Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
