Job Description




As a Security Guard - Shelter Perimeter Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible and approachable. You will perform routine patrols, respond to situations, and provide excellent service and communication to all individuals on site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or security-related hazards encountered during patrols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities as required by Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, staff, and occupants to address questions and provide assistance as needed.
  • Follow all site-specific procedures while upholding Allied Universal standards in all duties performed at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
