Job Description




As a Security Professional - Armed Education Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at an educational location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to various situations. You will interact with students, faculty, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service as you carry out your duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing training and de-escalation techniques.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and key access points, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
  • Communicate and collaborate with campus personnel, students, and visitors to provide assistance and relay security-related information as needed.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols and site requirements.
  • Participate in training and drills to maintain readiness for security-related emergencies and critical situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for extended periods of time is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
