Purpose

Supervises maintenance technicians, performs maintenance activities, schedules employees and coordinates activities to keep bakery running in 24/7 environment. Supervises and assists in repairs, breakdowns, alignment, troubleshooting and operations of building and plant equipment. Initiates preventative maintenance action, schedules and supervises preventative maintenance activities.

Key Accountabilities

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance, may become actively involved as required to meet schedules and resolve problems. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives. Understand and implements the knowledge in the Aspire Bakeries values throughout the facility and your teams to ensure continuous improvement for the company, customers, and employees.

Responsibilities



  • Supervise and provide lead technical knowledge in repair of breakdowns and troubleshooting.
  • Schedule maintenance needs as equipment fails or as production plan changes.
  • Determine whether problem can be solved in-house or outside specialist required, and make recommendation to Maintenance Manager.
  • Prepare technician schedule for 24 hour / 7 day operation line coverage and preventative maintenance activities, and recommend overtime allocation as necessary.
  • Manage employee time and attendance.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to document plant needs for fiscal year, including cost value of equipment repair or replacement.
  • Maintain repair schedules on equipment.
  • Manage department performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
  • Personnel Management

    • Hire, train, coach and manage maintenance team.
    • Measure employee and team performance.
    • Review and approve timecard reports.
    • Set forth standards for safety.


  • Ensure accident/loss prevention and security policies are followed.



Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

Required



  • High School diploma.
  • College/Technical degree or plus 7 years shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment including leadership experience
  • Maintenance/Engineering expertise in hydraulics, mechanics, process and electrical functions of equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Excel and Word for spreadsheets and reports.


Preferred



  • Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience with ammonia and the PSM Standard preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a manufacturing warehouse and walk-in freezer environment where temperatures can vary from extreme cold to very warm.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.


Pay: $88,000 - $96,000

Working Hours: 2p-10p, with occasional weekend work (M-F primarily)
