Overview

Job Purpose

The Trading Operations Analyst provides first-line support for all NYSE Group live production trading platforms. This customer-facing role involves identifying, troubleshooting, and escalating trading-related inquiries. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player who can work independently, collaborate effectively, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational trading support for NYSE Group Exchanges core session trading.
  • Participate in rotational shift coverage:
    • Early Trading Session: 2:00 AM - 11:00 AM ET
    • Late Trading Session: 11:30 AM - 8:00 AM ET
  • Monitor trading activity and system performance.
  • Execute daily checkout procedures for first-shift operations.
  • Assist member firms with inquiries related to order types, routing behavior, and trading functionality.
  • Conduct real-time surveillance of electronic trading across all Exchange products.
  • Collaborate with System Operations to understand trading architecture and system workflows.
  • Maintain electronic logs of trading issues, disputes, and resolutions.
  • Communicate with NYSE Regulation and other exchanges regarding erroneous trades and clearly erroneous (CEE) rulings.
  • Distribute mass communications regarding market status and operational updates.
  • Develop expertise in proprietary trading systems and back-office tools to support customer interactions.
  • Coordinate with Technology, Product Management and Relationship Management teams to onboard users and resolve technical issues.
  • Work with Floor Operations support teams to assist with real time trading inquiries.
  • Participate in rotational Saturday internal and external industry testing support.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Required licenses: Series 7, and Series 57.
  • 3+ years in a trading environment (e.g., trader, trader's assistant, competing exchange, or ATS).
  • Familiarity with trading systems and exchange operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SQL for issue investigation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and quick decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Client-focused mindset with a collaborative approach.
