About This Role

This is a new position to provide Molecular Diagnostics (Next-Generation Sequencing) services to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and to strengthen the College research capabilities in NGS, microbiome studies, and spatial transcriptomics, specifically focusing on leveraging multi-omics data to understand and address animal health challenges.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a master's degree and two years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Masters in Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Immunology, or related discipline, with postgraduate training and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ph.D.
  • Expertise and experience with nucleic acid purification and library preparation for Next-generation sequencing (16S rRNA, metagenomics and transcriptomics).
  • Extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of scRNA, spatial transcriptomics/proteomics either experimental and/or analytical workflows.
