Under the direction of the staff pharmacist and pharmacy
supervisor, the Pharmacy technician assists in all technical aspects of
prescription filling and dispensing activities, within the scope of their
license. Duties include processing, filling and dispensing prescriptions
as well as inventory management, medication delivery at bedside, prior
authorizatio
n,
Mailout process, medication reconciliation and other duties as assigned.

Schedule:
Varied hours, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays

Hourly
Salary Range: $27.88 - 40.04 (Union represented, step based salary depending on
years of experience)


  • Pharmacy Technician I (9283):
    Less than 2 years of experience
  • Pharmacy Technician II (9282):
    Equal to or more than 2 years of experience

Bargaining
Unit: EX - AFSCME

Qualifications

We're
seeking a dedicated professional with:



  • California Pharmacy Technician
    License
  • Ability to work independently
    and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Customer service, and problem
    solving skills
  • Knowledge of medical
    terminology, pharmaceutical abbreviations, pharmaceutical generic/trade
    names and their dosage forms, and the ability to cross-reference common
    drugs from memory
  • Intense and consistent
    concentration with attention to detail, and requires speed and accuracy
  • Telephone and verbal skills
    required to communicate clearly and effectively with pharmacists, nurses,
    physicians and other allied health professionals
  • Ability to frequently required
    to stand, sit, and walk
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs and push
    50 lbs
