The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Experience and Qualifications:

• Graduate of approved medical assistant program with certification required.
• Experience in a clinical medical family practice or Urgent care is preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations and understanding of patient flow processes.
• EMR experience and ability to learn new systems preferred.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• must be able to work: MON 8am-4:30, TUE 8am-4:30pm, WED 8am-6:30pm, THUR 8am- 4:30pm, FRI 7am-1:30pm

Skills needed:

• Ability to prioritize and execute a variety of different tasks.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
• Proficient computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Programs
• Effective organizational skills

We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant with a patient -first approach to service to join our growing team at our Community Primary Care location in Mt. Airy, PA!

The Certified Medical Assistant will:

• Ensure efficient patient flow in the health center, that patients are roomed in a timely manner with necessary clinical data obtained.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Ensure completeness of clinical documentation and MA workflows.
• Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by provider, following proper protocols.
• Perform venipuncture, collect laboratory specimens, and conduct basic laboratory tests.
• Complete monthly inventory of health center supplies and exam room stock
• Ensure that patient requests for telephone support (Lab results, faxing records to specialists, etc.) are completed in a timely manner and documented appropriately.
• Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings
• Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider.
• Coordinate patient referrals!
• Communicate test results and provide instructions to patients as directed.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist in patient education regarding medications, treatments, and preventive care.
• Support Quality Improvement Initiatives.
• Complete other duties as assigned

Laboratory Specific Responsibilities include:

• Performing point-of care
• Temperature monitoring of refrigerators and freezers with aid of Digital Data Loggers and other temperature logging devices
• Ensuring compliance with CLIA-waived testing and perform CLIA-waived
• Ordering of laboratory supplies through laboratory providers
• Notification of appropriate individuals in the event of equipment malfunction or failure
• Emergency transport of perishable vaccine in the event of power failure and activation of emergency protocols for vaccine storage
• Displaying competence in venous access procedures for all patients using a standard needle and syringe, as well as a multi-tube needle holder, using a variety of needle systems.
• Displaying competence in capillary access procedures on infants, pediatrics, and adult patients whether for direct testing of the sample or into a blood collection tube.
• Maintenance of clean and dirty laboratory areas
• Operating, or be trained to operate, and become proficient at using LabCorp. and Quest interfaces including how to add test requisitions, modify them, access data files, and send and receive results.

Earn $18-$22 per hour, based on experience.
