Responsibilities

  • The job will be a dedicated resource to one account as a Resident Engineer, and their primary objective is the success and growth of Keysight solutions for that customer.
  • Applies industry knowledge, technical expertise, and understanding of client's strategic direction and business goals to identify, develop, and deliver technical solutions. Translates customer challenges into Keysight business opportunities and technical consulting services and solutions, including the design, scope, and development of the technical components, which improve overall performance of client's organization. Integration may include 3rd party products, enhancements to Keysight products, or defining new Keysight product or service offerings to meet client requirements, including operational optimization of the customized solution. Works in participation with division and/or customers to help them conceptualize means to apply technology as a strategic asset. Works in a consultative mode with management in customer organizations.
  • Technical or business consultant to Keysight group and business level managers and to key client decision-makers
  • The engineer will become the trusted advisor for key clients focusing on managing and maintaining daily activities which help promote Keysight solutions primarily in the Network Visibility Solutions.
  • The engineer will work maintenance windows/night shift up to 50% to support deployments, configuration changes and trouble-shooting activities with Keysight's customers, vendors and third-party contractors.
  • Lead trouble resolution activities on behalf of Keysight to engage stake holders at Keysight, Keysight's customers, contractors and vendors to remove obstacles and drive to completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or University degree or equivalent in the areas of Computer
    Science, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Computer Science.
  • Typically, 5 to 10 years relevant experience for entry to this level.
  • Possesses in-depth skills acquired through advanced training, study and experience and internal
    recognition in specialty
  • Ability to work with little supervision and engage customers as needed on a routine basis during
    specific projects.
  • Strong ability to multi-task working with multiple customers at different phases of any given
    project.

Highly Desirable Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding and ability to design, develop, and debug Python scripts for automation
    and its usage of REST
  • Good understanding of networks (L2/3), network design and function, and the ability to perform
    troubleshooting and diagnostics within an operational environment
  • Knowledge of Network Visibility & Monitoring
  • Network Packet Brokers (NPBs): Keysight's expertise includes the use of NPBs like Vision Edge
    OS, Vision X and Vision ONE, which aggregate, filter, correlate and load-balance network packet
    data to deliver it to security, forensics, and performance management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 1 cabling including Copper and Fiber. Understanding of various
    Optical fiber transceivers and their capability.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Visio or other technical drawing software.
  • Full understanding of the OSI model and ability to articulate filtering strategies across all layers.
  • Knowledge of virtual environments both private and public cloud architectures.
