At TTR, you will work with state-of-the-art technologies, including:

Your expertise will be essential as you engage with PC-based control systems, electric drive controls, synchro/servos, and data/video encoder systems. This position requires a solid understanding of electronics, mechanics, and computing systems.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Collaborate with a dynamic group of field test support personnel to ensure the successful completion of Sandia National Laboratories' flight test missions, participating in daily briefings to discuss ongoing projects and test objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with radar systems, telemetry equipment, and communications systems during live flight tests, ensuring optimal performance and data accuracy.
  • Assist in the development of future range processes and procedures, contributing to the creation of documentation and protocols that enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  • Follow established range guidance to ensure compliance with operational, facility, and infrastructure quality requirements, incorporating corporate safety and work planning processes into all activities.
  • Operate, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot a variety of RF, optical, and communications systems to support remote field testing, utilizing tools such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive work plans, maintenance schedules, presentations, proposals, and reports, effectively communicating technical information to team members and stakeholders.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring all systems are prepared for operational readiness.
  • Evaluate current industry products and recommend solutions to resolve system obsolescence issues and component problems affecting equipment.
  • Perform well under high-stress conditions and meet tight deadlines, adapting to changing mission requirements and priorities.

Location and Work Environment:

Typical workweeks involve traveling to TTR on Tuesdays and returning on Thursdays, with variations based on mission requirements. Please note that this position is not eligible for remote or virtual work options.
