Hours and Pay

Shift: 1st Shift - Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

What You'll Do

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you'll be an essential part of the revenue cycle process, managing insurance claims, client billing, and payment postings. You'll work closely with both clients and payers to resolve balances, streamline billing operations, and keep accounts accurate and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review and resolve insurance denials, rejections, and outstanding claims by following up with payers and clients.
  • Research billing discrepancies, process appeals, and ensure accurate resolution of payment issues.
  • Assist clients with billing inquiries, providing professional and compassionate support.
  • Audit insurance plans and payment rates for accuracy, initiating corrective action when needed.
  • Post client and insurance payments in the EHR system as required.
  • Prepare system reports and support daily balancing and reconciliation duties.
  • Monitor collections, coordinate with agencies when necessary, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance billing processes and maintain the confidentiality of all information.



What You Bring



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in billing, finance, or a related healthcare field (mental health billing experience preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up abilities.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and computer programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
