Position Title:QualityEngineer Location:Brownville, NY Description: We have a great Quality Engineer opportunity in ourBrownville, NY location. This positionis responsible forthe quality of the product produced at theBrownvilleMill, reporting the necessary quality metrics, leading quality complaint investigations, and driving continuous improvement. This position will play a key role in site leadership through the engagement of manufacturing employees by providing visible support, fostering open communications, coaching, and development in a quality conscious environment resulting in a benchmark operations culture. Responsibilities: Provide leadership to manufacturing employees by being visible, clear in communicating relevant information, and coaching to drive employee performance. Accountable formaintainingaccuratequality metrics and concise, professional communication with our internal and external customers. Work closely with lab technicians tomaintaintest procedures and equipment; manage calibrationprogramand upkeep for test equipment. Manage products, specifications, and testdocumentswithinQualityManagement System, performing audits and routinemaintenanceas necessary. Manage non-conforming raw materials, WIP materials, and finished materials within the mill. Responsible for the execution of the customer complaints process, conducting thorough investigations, corrective and preventative actions, and communication to internal and external stakeholders. Manage outturn sampling and Certificate of Analysis (COA) process. Analyze opportunities to improve quality and yield by engaging employees through continuous improvement activities. Drive continuous improvement of site procedures and processes to drive lower customer complaints, higherefficiencies, and lower costs to the business. Driveimprovements through both strategic and tactical leadership of daily improvement, focused improvement events, and standard work processes. Create andmaintaina culture of respect, professionalism, and cooperation among the team. Education / Certifications: Bachelor'sdegree in engineering, paper science or another technical field isrequired. Prior related experience in a process-oriented manufacturing environment and continuous improvement processes such as Lean and Six Sigma are preferred. Required Skills: Highly motivated and self-directed to enable success in working in a matrix reportingenvironment. Strong problem solving, quantitative, analyticalskills. Six Sigmaor ASQ Certificationa plus.
