STS Technical Services is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor in Bolingbrook, Illinois. In this role, you'll lead a team of warehouse employees to meet business goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and can drive continuous improvement across operations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns.
  • Recognize and reinforce positive performance behaviors while addressing negative ones constructively.
  • Use Quality Network problem-solving methods to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) principles to improve layouts and efficiency.
  • Perform daily updates in the Timekeeping System (TKS) to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Use A-3 reporting to document problem-solving activities and follow local A-3 standards.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to review performance metrics and encourage two-way communication.
  • Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of assigned departments.
  • Plan and allocate daily workloads to ensure productivity and responsiveness.
  • Support colleagues to optimize shift performance and workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, both national and local.
  • Enforce company shop rules and policies.
  • Conduct daily SOP audits to ensure process consistency.
  • Advance skills and leadership capabilities through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
  • Keep supervisors and committees informed of all pending activities and developments.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse or manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics and scheduling systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of relevant technologies and management systems.
  • High analytical ability for resolving complex operational problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and best practices.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required; additional technical or business school training preferred.
  • Training in skilled trades or equivalent technical background.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience required.
