Your responsibilities

Summary: The Accountant is responsible for the activities necessary to receive all payments due on a timely basis. This individual works with external and internal customers to resolve disputes or conflicts. This role is responsible for organizing data, posting results, reconciling accounts, and resolving chargeback and pricing issues to collect amounts due within specified parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of all company transactions; reviews entries to the general and subsidiary ledgers to assure accuracy and compliance with the company's established accounting principles.
  • Prepares monthly and year-end journal entries by the 2nd day following the end of the accounting period.
  • Assists in preparation of monthly, year-end and comparative financial reports; performs and provides analysis of current results to prior periods and/or budget.
  • Compares cost center expenses incurred against budget and explain variances.
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliation for all accounts; verify accuracy of bank statements and resolves questions or problems; maintains integrity of cash balances.
  • Reconciles intercompany receivables/payables account by the 20th of each month.
  • Maintains inventory standard costing for Aftermarket and Motorsports (master data correction, NPI set up, Cost correction, annual cost update, etc.)
  • Documents and monitors internal controls.
  • Support year-end Tax reporting
  • Responsible for Internal order set up & month end reporting and posting.
  • Supports Marketing Sales promotion processing
  • Purchase Requisition / Order Management Purchase requisition review for accurate set up, PO creation & approval routing for AP processing
  • Management /Vendor Payment Processing by review of Vendor set up for payment processing, coordinate with GSS on AR/ AP issues and manual payment processing
  • Coordinates more complex account projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Ensures compliance and safety of all activities within the organization's standards and policies.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience of general accounting, either in public accounting firm or in a private corporate environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Ability to perceive needs and work independently.
  • Strong analytical ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
  • Demonstrated successful employment track record, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to maintain a safe working environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred.
