Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for at Logistics Coordinator lll to join our Team based in Mobile, AL

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you'll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Your working environment:

Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your boarding pass:

  • A Bachelor's Degree, technical degree or combination of education and experience focused in business administration or supply chain and logistics is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain and logistics, in material management preferably in aviation manufacturing, assembly or MRO.

  • May substitute supply and logistics experience for similar focus areas such as relevant customer service, etc.

  • Previous experience supporting A320 flowline operations is required.

  • Must possess familiarity with the American aviation market and operate within a Foreign Trade Zone.

Licensure/Certifications/Courses:

  • Successful completion of the training topics below is highly recommended:

    • Quality techniques, management

    • Environmental protection in accordance with ISO 14001

    • Introduction of common operation-instructions of plant processes

    • Introduction to technical drawing

    • Analyzing and improving processes in accordance with Six-Sigma-methods

Experience:

  • Required: Demonstrated experience in managing and leading

  • Required: Minimum 6 years of Manufacturing experience within Airbus, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Required: Manufacturing experience and strong skill set

  • Required: Experience in working with internal & external partners, suppliers and plants

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative

  • Proven ability to influence others and lead teams

  • Proven ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously

  • Strong knowledge of the Airbus worksharing structure, specifically the A320 Program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for on time on quality BFE Equipment deliveries of the End-to-End BFE-Process in contact with the associated Supply Officers.

  • Managing and conducting the BFE development as well as delivery steps by applying Project Management Tools and processes.

  • As a member of the Logistics core team, interacting with several Airbus key stakeholders from various functions: Programme (FCO, Definition and offer ability), Sales (Technical Sales), Engineering (Fleet managers and core engineering), Supply chain & Quality, Procurement (Buyers).

  • Bringing all necessary internal as well as external Stakeholders together to find pragmatic Solutions fitting the strategic boundaries.

  • Measuring the supplier's performance through the right KPls (Key Performance Indicator) to monitor in real time BFE development and activate improvement actionsAssessing the project management capability of suppliers in order to report it for quarterly supplier rating and for performance and executive review meetings with suppliers.Identify and Manage disturbances in the Supply Chain and improve related processes

  • Support Information Systems (IS) department with setting requirements and implementing IS functions

  • Prepare and provide training of processes and methods in scope of material management

  • Understand an appreciation of Lean Manufacturing philosophies and techniques

  • Create and verify service level agreements with different stakeholders

  • Manage missing parts lists in coordination with Production, Supplier Officers, and FAL Hamburg Back Office

  • Track and trace the physical position and status of material and material delivery units

  • Provide Line Side Support in case of logistical problems that occur within BFE material

  • Follow up reordering process for non conforming material with high priority

  • Coordinate reassignment of aircraft parts including the corresponding documentation

  • Initiate the scrap and return process for non conforming BFE material

  • Support operations line side on rework/concession parts supply

  • Act as subject matter expert for Logistic Service Provider and Supplier On-Site Support

  • Ensure close cooperation/coordination with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems

  • Take the lead on process improvement and performance enhancing projects concerning logistics topics

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings; Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.

  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor.

  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.

  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.

  • Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.

  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions

  • Space Limitations: Working on jigs at the fuselage at a height of 15 feet.
