Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Landmark Medical Center - Woonsocket, RI
Schedule: Full-Time | 8-hour Day Shifts | Non-Exempt
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

The Cardiac Sonographer performs high-quality echocardiographic studies and assists physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. This role involves the use of advanced ultrasound technology to visualize internal cardiac structures, measure cardiac function, and evaluate blood flow patterns. The Cardiac Sonographer works closely with physicians during complex procedures, including Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and patient comfort.

In addition, the Cardiac Sonographer contributes to the overall efficiency of the Cardiopulmonary Department through accurate documentation, effective communication, and coordination of patient care and workflow.

Perform a full range of echocardiographic studies, including M-mode, 2D, Doppler, and color flow imaging, following established protocols.
• Assist physicians with Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) and stress echocardiograms.
• Analyze and record diagnostic data for physician interpretation.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper performance and cleanliness.
• Accurately document patient information and results in the medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to deliver high-quality cardiac care.
• Support departmental workflow and uphold hospital standards for professionalism and patient satisfaction.

1. Completion of Echocardiogram program within 90 days of hire or equivalent training required

2. Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintain current required

3. Able to assist physician with TEE testing required

4. Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred

5. Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred

6. Effective July 1, 2017 ARDMS or CCI Required within 90 days of hire

7. Proficient computer skills.
