Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $32.00

Shift:7 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician I is an entry level helper with some technical schooling completed or minimum experience in maintenance. They help assist Level II and III technicians in equipment installations, repairs, or modifications related to the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy within the manufacturing facility.

  • Understand and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
  • Assists with repairing and installing various electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units and conduit system
  • Work with blueprint drawings, layouts, verbal instruction and other specifications
  • Use various welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting) for layout and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures
  • Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
  • Performs visual and mechanical inspections to confirm machinery is in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products according to order specifications
  • Follow the preventative maintenance program as established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventive action when necessary
  • Maintain buildings, performing minor repairs
  • Notifies management regarding the need for major repairsor additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area
  • May be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by Team Leader


Qualifications


  • Highs School Diploma or recognized equivalent
  • Minimum of (2) two years related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts

Position may require some off shift/overtime hours when needed for machine breakdowns or preplanned maintenance work (Saturdays when production is not running for example)
