| Position Description: |
The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Department of Surgery is seeking applicants for a faculty position in the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to the tenure track, or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. University of Iowa Health Care is a tertiary medical center which includes a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center and a Level I Trauma Center. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is divided into site and disease-specific multidisciplinary oncology groups delivering state of the art cancer care and administering clinical trials, and research groups performing cutting edge basic science investigations. The Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery currently has 9 surgeons, 5 specializing in complex and GI Surgical Oncology, 2 performing Endocrine Surgery, and 4 who perform Breast Surgery. University of Iowa Health Care is located in a Big-Ten college town. The Iowa City metropolitan area has a population of 175,000 and the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids Corridor has a population of 450,000. Iowa City and the University of Iowa provide a rich cultural environment, highlighting art, music, and literature. | Education Requirement: |
- Candidates must hold MD, DO or equivalent degree.
- Candidates must have completed training in all phases of General Surgery.
- Completion of a fellowship in Surgical Oncology.

| Required Qualifications: |
- Applicants with established research are preferred and appointment to the tenure track requires research experience at a level which enables procurement of outside funding.

| Desirable Qualifications: |
- Experience or interest in complex Surgical Oncology, including hepatic and pancreatic surgery, as well as intraperitoneal perfusion, is highly desirable.
