Job Description

Primary Location:

Worland, Wyoming Accounting Assistant: Supports Accounting department by performing clerical tasks, processing, and recording transactions, preparing financial reports, fielding communications with customers and company branch locations, assist with state reporting, and other duties as needed. Gathers and audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment with General Ledger coding. Assists in processing fixed asset transactions. Possess customer service skills to communicate with employees and suppliers to solve problems and gain information. Reconciles general ledger accounts. Extracts general ledger information. Reconciles bank statements. Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures. Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections. Assists in year-end closings. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, purchase orders, packing slips and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with our sales centers, production facilities and our suppliers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to perform basic math and business math functions. REASONING ABILITY Ability to deal with a variety of problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Have general knowledge and understanding of financial statements. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a very strong Excel skill, knowledge of accounting software; Database software; and Word Processing software.
