Essential functions:

  • Leads development of design concepts for clients/projects
  • Directs preparation of drawings to create and document architectural designs
  • Interfaces with client son design issues and develops architectural solutions
  • Leads development of production drawings and construction documents
  • Manages design analysis and compilation of specifications for basic to complex architectural assignments
  • Manages team collaboration to advance design concepts
  • Manages coordination of outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants
  • Reviews building codes and conducts zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards
  • Establishes budget, task schedule, and other components of the project work plan
  • Ensures timely and effective management and delivery of drawings
  • Works closely with project architects with respect to budget and schedule constraints
  • Assists others with project deadlines as available
  • Facilitates knowledge of current graphic standards and building construction methods
  • Guides and monitors production workflow activities on all studio projects; conducts technical and design reviews
  • Adheres to our Quality Management System
  • Performs other duties as requested by leadership

Project Delivery / Technology implementation:

  • Develops and manages project delivery workflows for architectural work
  • Assists all project teams in model setup and maintenance as appropriate
  • Assists with resource management and planning for architectural projects
  • Develops, executes, and maintains firm wide library of standard details, etc.
  • Provides project data analysis
  • Leads technical working group discussions about production best practices

Staff Development:

  • Acts as mentor by coaching and motivating design teams and individuals; fostering an environment of mutual respect and trust among members of the group as it grows and develops
  • Assists in preparation and delivery of design staff evaluations, responsible for performance development and workload allocation processes of department
  • Participates in interviews and recruiting professional staff
  • Encourages staff exploration and innovation to achieve project design excellence and continual improvement
  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with management and project team members
  • Participates inappropriate professional and client-oriented organizations, maintains active memberships and attends conferences and activities
  • Fosters an environment of mutual respect and passion for design among team members and within the office
  • Leads office design reviews and critiques

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree required; Masters of Architecture preferred
  • Architect License
  • 10+ years of architecture and design experience
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and sustainable practices
  • Interest in working at all scales of design and planning from regional systems to details is preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Adobe CC Suite
  • Capability in Rendering Software, Lumion or Enscape is desired but not required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, complemented by strong presentation skills
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
