About the role

SUMMARY:

The Contracts Counsel provides written/oral legal advice to Staffing Services departments and field operations in various transactional matters, including contracts, compliance, collections and general operational guidance in order to reduce potential legal liabilities and assists field management/staff to close contracts. Works under general direction

What you'll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consults with and advises Staffing Services departments and Staffing Services field operations on a wide range of legal issues.
  • Negotiates/drafts Staffing Services contracts, including national accounts and partnerships.
  • Monitors relevant legal developments and legislation to keep transactions and related matters compliant with applicable law and best practices.
  • Communicates with clients, vendors, government agencies and their respective counsel to obtain/provide information and resolve problems.
  • Performs other assignments as delegated by General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Able to manage and prioritize a varied, time sensitive workflow.
About you

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Juris Doctor degree and license to practice law in any state.
  • Minimum of five (5) years legal experience, ideally practicing commercial law. Familiarity with labor and employment law is a plus.
  • A minimum of four (4) years' experience practicing within a corporate environment.
  • Related industry experience a plus (recruiting, staffing, BPO, etc.).
  • Experience negotiating and drafting complex transactional documents preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to all levels of management, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively identify and research legal issues and propose appropriate courses of action.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
