Marketing Specialist

Enrollment Services

Under the general direction of the Manager of Marketing and Media in Student Engagement, the Marketing Specialist, Student Success (MSSS) will be responsible for ensuring that all Student Success websites, marketing materials, and divisional campaigns are accurate, engaging, and aligned with Georgia State University's brand standards. This role balances strategic communication, creative design coordination, and collaborative project management to elevate the visibility of Student Success initiatives and events across the university community.

Position Responsibilities

Website Management (55% of position)

* Update, refresh, and maintain all Student Success websites with timely and accurate content.

* Meet with corresponding units to gather up-to-date details about products and services.

* Ensure web pages meet institutional accessibility and branding standards.

* Monitor site performance and collaborate with IIT/central web teams to ensure for usability and SEO.

Graphic Design (25% of position)

* Coordinate the creation of marketing materials requested by Student Success offices, ensuring consistency with university branding.

* Serve as the primary liaison between Student Success offices and the Marketing & Media student design team to produce high-quality digital and print collateral.

Communication & Training (10% of position)

* Develop and deliver trainings on marketing best practices, strategies, and tools for the Division of Student Engagement & Success.

* Train departmental staff on marketing and communication platforms used at the divisional and university level.

Special Projects & Collaboration (10% of position)

* Partner with other Marketing Specialists in the Division to create and promote materials for signature university events, including Spring Fling, Homecoming, and Heritage Celebrations.

* Support cross-divisional marketing efforts to encourage collaboration, participation, and visibility for key events.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field and two years of experience, or a combintation of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

* Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills

* Proficiency with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA).

* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work effectively with diverse constituencies and across administrative lines.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Google products, editing videos, and other marketing software.

* Experience in higher education setting with proven record of increasing marketing efforts and outreach.

* Experience creating a social media campaign with a proven record of increasing reach and following.

* Knowledge of SEO best practices and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Google products, editing videos, and other marketing software.
