Summary

The Quality & Lab System Administrator is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and support of laboratory information management systems, specifically LabVantage, Empower and AssurX. This role consistently delivers high-quality services and products to customers to ensure end users are supported in their use of these platforms. The Lab Administrator acts as a primary contact for system troubleshooting, upgrades, and user training. Strong GxP and Computer system Validation CSV skills are required.

This position is based in Massachusetts and requires a presence on-site (two/three) days per week, and open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Responsibilities



  • Administer and maintain the LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS) and AssurX Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Configure, update, and troubleshoot LabVantage, Empower and AssurX systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings within both platforms.
  • Provide technical support and training to laboratory staff on LabVantage, Empower and AssurX functionalities.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Coordinate software upgrades, patches, and integrations with IT and vendor teams.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and training materials related to LabVantage, Empower and AssurX
  • Serve as a liaison between laboratory personnel, IT, and external vendors for system-related issues and enhancements.
  • Support laboratory workflow optimization by leveraging system functionalities and recommending process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP, GLP) in system configuration and data management.
  • Instrument Integration to LIMS utilizing Java scripting and field mapping for Empower System administration of Empower
  • Managing users and user types, project modifications, backups, and restoration, node configuration, system configuration and integration with nodes. LAC/e server Configuration and integration with HPLC/GCs


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience administering LabVantage or similar LIMS systems and Empower CDS in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, data management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for training and supporting laboratory staff.
  • Process analysis, requirements gathering, support, configuration, development, System Administration for LabVantage or similar LIMS.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Experience with system integrations, upgrades, and vendor management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FDA, GMP, and GLP regulations is a plus.

The pay range for this position is between $128,000 and $177,000 annually.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award. Benefits for this position include a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Other offerings include life and disability benefits, pre-tax accounts, a 401(k) with company contribution, and a variety of other benefits.
