Description
Primary responsibilities and objectives of the position:
* Provide instruction to floor level operators that include the weld process and equipment.
* Perform process weld qualification
* Program robots (Fanuc)
* Perform preventative maintenance
* Provide engineering support on new and existing product
* Support the production floor:
o Troubleshoot and repair production equipment
o Fixture modification
o Edit weld programs for manual and/or automatic equipment
o Train various weld classes (MIG, TIG, Brazing, Weld Defect Identification and Resistance)
o Create destruct test methods for quality control measures
* Provide input on:
o Weld fixtures
o Weldment design
o Preventative maintenance tasks
o Cost reductions and product improvements

Required Specifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalency
2. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
3. Excellent Safety Record
4. Proficient with computers and ability to work with SAP/Plant Maintenance Software
5. Must be able to meet/pass assessment standards for the position
6. Ability to work in high/confined areas
7. Ability to work on or around machinery
8. Ability to rotate shifts and plants during the approximate four to five year apprenticeship program
9. Attendance required at Grand Rapids Community College during off-working hours to complete required/assigned academic requirements (approx. 875 hours); each class must be completed with a grade of C or above.
10. Ability to work other than normal work hours which may include weekend, holiday, etc.
11. Individual must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to accept and retain information through continuous learning and training.
12. Must know and follow established safety procedures including a working knowledge of OSHA & MIOSHA.
