Purpose of the Role
The Mechanical Superintendent provides overall leadership for mechanical construction activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution that aligns with Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world. This role oversees mechanical forepeople and trade crews, guiding daily operations and long-range planning to support projects that balance current customer needs with future-focused sustainability goals. Through consistent leadership, technical expertise, and clear communication, the Mechanical Superintendent helps ensure that mechanical systems and installations contribute to long-term asset integrity and responsible project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
* Leads and directs mechanical forepeople and mechanical trade crews, creating a safe, productive, and collaborative site environment in support of Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change.
* Oversees workface planning, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical activities to ensure smooth integration with other project disciplines and seamless progression through construction phases.
* Ensures all mechanical work adheres to HSE expectations, reinforcing Worley's promise to support responsible and well-managed project outcomes.
* Provides guidance, mentorship, and developmental support to apprentices and experienced mechanical personnel, strengthening the long-term capability of the mechanical workforce.
* Monitors cost performance, workforce efficiency, material usage, and quality control of mechanical installations, supporting reliable and value-driven delivery.
* Applies company labor-relations practices fairly and consistently within the mechanical discipline to maintain stability and alignment across site operations.
* Identifies and resolves conflicts related to mechanical work, communicating clearly with project leadership and construction management to maintain alignment and avoid disruptions.
* Provides technical direction and oversight on mechanical methods, installation standards, and troubleshooting to ensure quality and compliance with project and industry requirements.
* Utilizes advanced understanding of mechanical systems, processes, and tools to guide trade crews and contribute to the development or implementation of improved practices and innovations.

Qualifications / Skillset
* Extensive experience in the mechanical trade with demonstrated progression into supervisory or superintendent-level leadership.
* Journey-level certification or equivalent mechanical credentials when required by regional or project standards.
* Strong ability to plan, allocate, and adjust mechanical manpower and resources to meet evolving schedule priorities while maintaining safe and productive operations.
* Advanced understanding of mechanical systems, installation techniques, equipment, and trade-related digital tools, with the ability to mentor others and troubleshoot complex issues.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, guide, and motivate teams while positively resolving conflict.
* Demonstrated alignment with Worley's sustainability values through safe work practices, quality-focused mechanical execution, and support for long-term asset viability.
* Ability to work with broad project objectives and exercise independent technical judgment while ensuring adherence to company policies and project expectations.
