Responsibilities:



  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or both) according to specifications.
  • Load raw materials, perform machine adjustments, and monitor machining operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain tight tolerances and part quality.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Complete production reports, logs, and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company safety standards.
  • Work closely with supervisors, quality teams, and fellow machinists to meet production goals.
  • Troubleshoot minor machining issues and escalate complex problems to leads or supervisors.


Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in machining preferred.
  • Previous experience operating CNC machines (mills, lathes, or similar equipment).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and inspection instructions.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tools, feeds, speeds, and materials.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to stand, lift, and move materials during the shift (up to 50 lbs).
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a production team.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
