Role description
We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for web and API testing. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Rest Assured, with a deep understanding of automation frameworks and QA best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Rest Assured.
Develop and enhance automation frameworks for web and API testing.
Execute test cases, analyze test results, and report defects using standard bug-tracking tools.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Perform regression testing and ensure the stability of builds.
Participate in code reviews, test planning, and test strategy discussions.
Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, scripts, and results.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
4+ years of overall experience in software testing (manual + automation).
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in automation testing using:
Java (core programming and OOP concepts)
Selenium WebDriver (UI automation)
Rest Assured (API testing and automation)
Experience with TestNG, Maven/Gradle, and Git.
Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) preferred.
Knowledge of Postman, JIRA, or similar tools is an advantage.
Good to Have:
Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
Exposure to cloud testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
Knowledge of database testing (SQL basics).
Familiarity with performance testing concepts.
