Research Coordinator

Job Summary

This Research Coordinator's primary responsibility will be coordinating an NIH-funded clinical trial. Dr. Butryn's program of research develops and tests interventions for health-related behavior change, with primary focuses currently on 1) a patient navigator program for obesity, and 2) promoting dietary change for cancer prevention.

This research lab is staffed by faculty, research coordinators, clinical psychology Ph.D. students, and undergraduate students, providing an environment rich in intellectual stimulation and mentorship. The position represents an excellent opportunity to gain experience in health psychology/behavioral medicine research and to be trained in both research and clinical tasks.

This position provides excellent preparation for recent graduates who wish to pursue graduate study in clinical psychology or a related area. Opportunities also will be available, as desired, for grant application preparation, research diagnostic assessment training, data analysis, and preparation of poster presentations and/or manuscripts related to projects. Coordinators also have the opportunity to be exposed to treatment provision.

This position will start Summer 2026 the earliest. Interviews will start February 2026.

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Essential Functions

• Plan research activities
• Coordinate assessments
• Advertising activities
• Database development and maintenance
• Conduct data entry
• Schedule and conduct participant screening and clinical assessments
• Research protocol development
• Conduct NIH and IRB protocol work
• Provide overall coordination of all study elements including intervention/treatment
• Refine and implement the assessment protocol
• Manage data and databases
• Maintaining contact and approvals with NIH and IRB
• Work closely with colleagues at other sites
• Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience by the start of the position. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work some evenings throughout the year as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Research experience, including experience with structured assessments and/or diagnostic interviews.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 - $61,680 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
