Here's what makes IIT a great place to work: * Opportunities for professional development and career advancement * Access to cutting-edge technologies * A collaborative and creative team culture * A strong sense of purpose and impact in our work Position Overview: Georgia State University's Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer, Intermediate to design, diagnose, and provide solutions for large-scale network infrastructures. Key Responsibilities The scope of responsibilities for this position will include but is not limited to the following essential duties: Network Design and Implementation * Design, install, configure and manage project implementation and day-to-day operations for the campus network infrastructure hardware and software in alignment with BOR, IIT, and industry best practices. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting * Provide level two diagnostics and problem fault isolation, resolution for moderate to complex networking issues across all GSU locations, including central and secondary data centers, cloud environments, remote campuses, and other GSU supported sites. Documentation and Knowledge Management * Document network systems interconnections, configuration, and processes. * Create internal and end-user documentation for systems, applications, and hardware supported and used by the Network Engineering team Process Improvement * Analyze existing networking processes and procedures and implement new processes and procedures to improve network availability and performance. Technology Evaluation * Evaluate emerging technologies for adaptation and implementation in the campus network infrastructure. Operational Support * Perform on-call duties as required by the department. * Work flexible and extended schedule, including nights and weekends, to support implementations and incident response, as needed. Security Collaboration * Support Information Security with identifying and deactivating network systems and users with security issues. * Support remediation efforts for security-related issues. Minimum Hiring Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following: * Experience with Cisco CCNA and CCNP * Experience with Cisco VOIP and Microsoft VOIP * Hands-on experience with network automation and orchestration using tools such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform, with an understanding of API-driven and infrastructure-as-code approaches. * Experience with firewalls * Strong routing and switching Knowledge * Familiarity with routing protocols College/Business Unit
