The Laboratory Animal Medical Services (LAMS) is part of the Office of Research at the University of Cincinnati. They are responsible for husbandry and veterinary care of all vertebrate animals on the University of Cincinnati (UC) campuses. LAMS is committed to providing high-quality services to meet the needs of the researchers. In addition, LAMS is responsible for assisting researchers in model development, animal usage, humane animal treatment, and compliance with University policies and procedures and governmental regulations. Job Overview
The LAMS department is hiring a Clinical Veterinarian to join their highly motivated and talented team. This position will provide high quality health care and surgical oversight for laboratory animals and provide training for technicians and research staff. They will also provide oversight of USDA covered species, including guidance to veterinary technical staff for surgical procedures and Peri-operative care. Essential Functions
Required Education
Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine (graduated from an AVMA Council on Education (COE)-accredited school or successfully completed an educational equivalency certification program such as that administered by the AVMA's Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG)).
