A Day in the Life

  • - Lead production teams and shift leaders; set clear targets and coach through Gemba and structured feedback.
  • - Own and implement a lean daily management system (tier meetings, short-interval control, problem escalation).
  • - Drive continuous improvement initiatives: 5S, SMED, TPM elements, A3 problem solving, kaizen events, and value stream mapping.
  • - Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to remove constraints and improve flow.
  • - Translate operational performance into financial outcomes (understand standard cost, absorption, variance drivers).
  • - Recruit, onboard, and develop talent; ensure succession for critical roles.
  • - People-first leader with strong floor presence and ability to earn respect from hourly teams.
  • - Craves process discipline and standard work; avoids ad-hoc or 'cowboy' approaches.
  • - Calm under pressure with fanatical integrity; safety and quality are non-negotiable.
  • - Action-oriented decision maker who embraces change and transformation.
  • - Continuous improvement mindset with hands-on experience in lean tools (A3, VSM, 5S, SMED, TPM).
  • - Financially savvy; connects operational decisions to P&L impact (yield, scrap, overtime, conversion cost).

  • - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • - Prior people leadership experience preferred but not mandatory for elite performers.
  • - Experience in polymer compounding is not required; adjacent manufacturing experience is acceptable.
