Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Nurse Call Service Technician to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Install, terminate, and test nurse call systems and related low-voltage devices (e.g., code blue, wandering patient, and staff communication systems).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
  • Mount, connect, and label system components, cabling, and network interfaces.
  • Configure and program nurse call systems per project requirements.
  • Perform functional testing and quality assurance to ensure proper system operation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other trades to complete installations on schedule.
  • Document installation details, test results, and any modifications for project records.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and basic end-user training.
  • Follow safety protocols, hospital infection control standards, and company policies.
  • Stay current with manufacturer training and certifications for nurse call systems (e.g., Rauland, Hill-Rom, Ascom, Jeron, or TekTone).


Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 2+ years of experience installing or servicing low-voltage systems (fire alarm, access control, intercom, or nurse call)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical skills
  • Knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and low-voltage installation practices
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with healthcare environments or nurse call manufacturers (e.g., Rauland-Borg, Ascom, Hill-Rom, or TekTone)
  • Low Voltage License or equivalent state certification
  • OSHA 10/30 and/or BICSI Installer certifications
  • Networking experience (TCP/IP, PoE, or system integration)
  • Knowledge in other systems such as Access Control and Cameras preferred


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders or lifts
  • Work may require bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing
  • Ability to work in hospital environments and adhere to infection control procedures
