Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a STORMFORCE Management Team Senior Systems Engineer for an enterprise systems engineering program in the Fort Meade, Maryland area. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location. As a Senior Systems Engineer on our team, you will provide SIGINT Military support to the STORMFORCE Management Team (SFMT) and its series of annual test events. You will serve as the subject-matter expert responsible for coordination with other DoD and Partner organizations. You will gather objective requirements by coordinating with the SIGINT organizations, systems engineers, data modelers, and other members of the community. Other tasks include but are not limited to:

    Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288
  • Assist in developing, and approving the delivery of, work products of all Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288
  • Plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact major capabilities of high priority to the enterprise
  • Independently resolve important engineering issues requiring the use of advanced technology.
  • Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
  • Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
  • Brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project.
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
  • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of project's technical design.
  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture
  • Assists with the allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination. #AJCM


Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A Master's degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
  • Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering & requirements; emphasis on the architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design for a program.
  • Ability to analyze user requirements to develop concept of operations documents, and high-level system architecture and requirements specifications. At least 50% of this experience should have been in an Intelligence Community environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organizational management, be willing to operate in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision, and possess strong interpersonal, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel; several smaller trips (2-5 days) per year and two longer trips (2 to 5 weeks) per year.
  • Physical Demands & Equipment: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • Previous hands-on experience working with U.S. DOD ISR, DCGS community, and/or customer Cryptologic Community tactical SIGINT capabilities
  • Previous experience with conducting Operational Test of tactical SIGINT capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of customer SIGINT operations with the Service systems.
  • Ability to understand existing Service Cryptologic Elements' tactical capabilities & Cryptologic Enterprise architectures.
  • Working knowledge of data sharing and interoperability of SIGINT data, information, and services across the Cryptologic Enterprises. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
