Advanced Practice (APP) Fellow- Surgical amp; Proceduralist

Position Summary:

The Surgical and Proceduralist Fellowship offers enterprise-wide rotation opportunities designed to develop advanced clinical and technical proficiency in the care of surgical and procedure-based patients. Fellows gain experience across oncologic and non-oncologic settings, including surgical inpatient, outpatient, and operative environments. Rotations may include specialty areas within the Department of Surgery, such as plastic surgery, surgical oncology, general gastrointestinal surgery, cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery. Dedicated experiences with procedural teams provide hands-on training in thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar punctures, central line placement, and bone marrow biopsies. These rotations strengthen procedural competency and promote multidisciplinary collaboration across the perioperative and procedural care continuum.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current license and certificate of authority to practice as a CNP in the State of Ohio. Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Masters degree in Nursing.
OR
Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program. National Certification Commission for Physician Assistant certification. Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a physician assistant. Masters degree.

Applicants for theSurgical/OR Trackmust hold RNFA certification along with an APRN certification or PA-C licensure. Applicants interested in theProceduralist Trackmust hold an Acute Care APRN certification or PA-C licensure, with RNFA not required. Applicants wishing to completeboththe surgical and proceduralist experiences must meet both sets of requirements, including RNFA certification and Acute Care APRN or PA-C credentials.
