The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) will support critical customer marketing activities for an in-line product within the Oncology business unit. This product is currently approved for the treatment of recurrent H3 K27M mutant Diffuse Midline Glioma. The TLL will engage in several cross functional initiatives and manage strategic relationships with key opinion leaders.

Essential Functions

This individual will:

  • Actively identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with key regional KOLs through 1:1 meetings, virtual interactions, and engagements at congresses, speaker programs, national and regional advisory boards, and programs at key institutions.

  • Drive results in key areas, including KOL relationship management, KOL advocacy, refining our approach to insights collection/reporting and advocacy development, speaker identification, training and management.

  • Develop clinical and commercial knowledge of the Neuro Oncology market; understand the treatment and market specifics in their region including referral patterns and a deep understanding of how the multidisciplinary team functions within key accounts

  • Help formulate strategic and tactical plans regarding KOL engagements based on a solid understanding of their market and trends at a local and national level

  • Attend national and regional medical conferences and meetings

  • Develop engagement plans to enhance relationships and partnerships with key external stakeholders - Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in key accounts

  • Contribute to speaker bureau development, including recruiting, developing content, training, executing, and evaluating branded and unbranded educational peer-to-peer programs

  • Help support advisory boards and other insight generation projects

  • Prioritize, and help develop and implement peer-to-peer education or other tactics that meet the needs of regional markets

  • Commercial cross functional KOL engagement coordination, driving and leading cross functional task forces to support a successful launch/product growth.

  • Leading coordination with key collaborators as appropriate, including Medical Affairs, Sales and third-party partners, to support coordination of commercial advisory boards as directed by Marketing.

  • Supporting Patient Advocacy and Society Partnership plus exploring/contributing to Congress planning opportunities.

  • Actively contributing to and supporting the development of materials to support execution of TLL tactics

  • Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and compliance partners to ensure compliant development and execution of all initiatives.

  • Continuously review and update regional plans and operationalize engagements with thought leaders through development and refinement of insight gathering processes.

  • Support and routinely engage with additional TLL team members to understand and accurately assess market conditions across the nation, help introduce TLL and Leadership cross functional partners to KOLs across the nation as warranted.

  • Provide insights and mentoring to Account Managers in the Region and across the nation (as appropriate) to enhance awareness/understanding and ability to pull through commercial activity in their local accounts.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry (KOL engagement, Key Customer marketing, Thought-leader liaison work, sales, marketing, or equivalent)

  • 2+ years of neuro oncology experience required

  • 2+ years of rare disease experience required

  • Previous KOL-facing experience required

  • Strong preference for biomarker testing/ diagnostics experience

  • Launch experience preferred

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, strategic relationship management, and demonstrated collaboration/feedback skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complexity

  • Previous thought leader liaison experience preferred or demonstrated ability to network effectively across the Neuro Oncology KOL community

  • Strong scientific acumen and understanding of oncologic clinical medicine is a must.

  • Proven, consistent history of high performance, leadership and successful engagement with remote teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a successful track record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets and critical paths.

  • Ability to adapt and flex with changes to project plans, combined with the ability to quickly implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate those changes.

  • This is a field-based position the candidate is required to live in their region.

  • Ability to travel 50-60% domestically. In the field approximately 3 days/week or more as needed and some weekend work is required.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor's Degree (life sciences or a related discipline a plus)

  • Graduate degree (preferred)

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $160,000.00 - $240,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
